The Secret Ingredient is Crime

I have set this Blog up to keep in contact with my dear friend Johannes de Silentio; he is possibly the coolest person I've ever met and I never want to lose contact with him. Correction: He IS the coolest person I have ever met.

What a week...

Uggh...last week was, well, tiring! But fantastically fun! I say it started off with seeing Closer on Monday which I really enjoyed...mainly because it was fun to relate the characters to myself...

Tuesday K and I went to Manchester to see The Bravery. LJE joined us and the show was great...as the girls kept screaming I wondered how much I could get for Michael H's number...Met up with Michael after the show and hung out backstage...found out that the one I thought was cute had lived in DC for some time...later went to a club in town and proceeded to get wasted. Woke up the next morning realizing there were three of us in the bed, I was still drunk and that I had blacked out the last part of the evening --- as had K and LJE...remenants come to me at times, shots, flirting and wanting food...

K and I hopped the train to London...hooked up with our DC girls in the evening and had a blast...made me really miss DC, the people and the old hood. The next day went to the Tower of London with the whole DC family and it was fun to see how the girls were so much like their parents...saw the crown jewels (decided I needed my own royal orb), different types of armour and a bunch of other historical stuff...

Met up with Johnny Makeout for a quick supper at a pub (much to M's dismay -- in fact, still haven't crossed that bridge)...hadn't seen him since October so that was kind of fun..although I realized that he bears a striking resemblance to my fake other other brother which was a little disconcerting...but still a cutie. Found out his last name is shrubshole or something like it -- meaning one who lives in a hole with a shrub outside. Nice.

Went to the club that Carl from the LIbertines dj's at on Thursday for a indie night -- five DC girls almost mauled this poor moppie as we all stared him down...he wouldn't have known what hit him had one of us acted.

Then on Friday the girls came to tha pool and we went out for supper -- great food and then off to the club where we had a good time -- saw a band called The Performance that peeps need to check out (weareperformance.co.uk)...they were great. Girls left and now I'm sad that I don't have any DCers coming to town -- lord knows my SK peeps aren't showing up anytime soon.

Weekly round up complete. The Bravery fucking rocked -- so happy that they are doing so well...album is out in March and they're on itunes...check them out...It was fun hanging out with rock stars again -- oh I'm shallow.

Thinking British

Saturday night M and his roomie dropped by our flat for a bit before heading off to the pub. As they were riding in the 'elevator' they realized that it was made by a Schindler.
If you think British this is a very amusing thing...it's Schindler's lift...

For the Sake of Blogging

I feel as if there is little to blog on...procrasination contines to dominate my time.

Julliette and the Licks didn't happen -- sold out show -- damn -- so sad...so went to Parr Street Studios for a drink before heading home to watch the oh so delightfully terrible Desperate Housewives.

On Thursday went to 'Human Eyes, Robot Teeth' -- an indie dance night set up by one of M's roomies, Ben. School project and the first night broke even, so congrats to him -- beyond consuming too many drinks I enjoyed the sounds of Postal Service, the Walkmen, Simian and the Beastie Boys amongst others.

Really its all about this coming week: The Bravery (assuming Mike H. remember's to guest list us) in Manchester on Tuesday, then off to London to meet up with the infamous DCKaren till Friday. Then DCKaren returns to the pool with us for a night before heading back to London and then back to DC...so should be good times.

Yes...sorry this post is all over the place but since no one actually reads this I don't feel too bad. Dizzee Rascal is awesome...

random thoughts

As qouted by Troy McClure: Ahh sweet sweet liquour -- it eases the pain...heading off to see...uggh...Juliette Lewis and the Licks tonight...WHY? Because a random person we psuedo know is in the opening band...the fact that I am supporting someone like JL and her musical ventures pisses me off -- to be fair I don't know what she does but all of her interviews piss me off.

Today's horoscope:
The usual routine you engage in to keep from spinning into unknown territory now seems a hollow series of actions without meaning. And the unknown territory doesn't seem so frightening anymore. So venture out!

Frighteningly -- this has been occuring....oh the wise words of the stars...

Vday: Take away pizza and dancing to the tunes as spun by ladytron on a boat on the river mersey...outdoor toilets and random lesbian hook-ups...who says romance is dead?

nicknames and such

K and I went out on Thursday night to, shock surprise, an Indie dance night...Jesus and Dreamy McSexpants were there, as well as DJ and Blonde DJ...Ended up having a bit of a conversation with the DJ's -- DJ has been on and off the dole for the better part of the last few years (classy) and Blonde DJ likes Hip Hop -- in fact I asked him to play more hip hop on his Friday nights and yesterday he played some public enemy...I like to think it was because of me...

Friday I was coerced into having a date with my stalker -- who proceeded to ask me out for V day...I had to break it to him that I had a boyfriend (scary), and hopefully this will finally end that saga...although I later asked M if we were going out on V day and he said it's his mates bday so he hadn't planned anything...surprising feelings have surfaced in me and I must remind myself to chill...grrr

Oh and M informed me that he feels he deserves a nickname...he said that since everyone else has one he feels left out. I could have told him he has gained the nickname lint but I don't like that one...instead after much debate (K and I thought about it all night at the snowpatrol dj set at Evol), the name chosen is Feeder...see earlier this week for more details...

Starlight Starbright

My weekly horoscope from the Onion. So true, so true.

Libra: (Sept. 23—Oct. 23)
You will raise procrastination to an art form, providing dozens of industrious critics with a new livelihood.

I amaze myself at my laziness and inability to get anything done....

Last week The Onion also got it right:

Libra: (Sept. 23—Oct. 23)
You'll cry because you have no shoes, but you frickin' cry at everything.

Finally, a point of laughter: You know how on the Simpsons, Marge sees a twelve spice spice rack and she's like, 'OR EH GONE OH', what's that?'...the Brits say oregano like that...

I have no right to complain

You know how it is when you start off a relationship and it rocks and you want to hang out all the time together? Ok, well, I hadn't up until now but anyways...I'M SOOOO TIRED! I just want to sleep and veg out on the couch but the days that I'm not out with M I'm out with KP. So even though I have no right to complain, I am, soley because I'm sleep deprived.

Speaking of relationships, M and I talked a lot about things yesterday: one topic of conversation was the difference between North America and the UK when it comes to relationships. While I feel that M and I have plunged into something super hardcore, he has stated that this is normal for the Brits: all or nothing, none of this wait two days to call a person, and then arrange something two days after that...

this was really my ploy to have an evening in but it turned into him coming over and the three of us (KP included) watching a documentary about big (and I'm talking 500 pounds) girls, fat addicts, their growing (parden the pun) porn industry and feeders. I was eating a yogurt at the time and M kept looking at me and saying, yeah, you want another, that's right babes, eat some more. Funny yes, but destroyed the delicious yogurt as all I could think of was what I'd look like at 500 pounds...uggh.

I got a cold from Girls Aloud. Well, not from a Girls Aloud but from that night. Which ROCKED btw.

I'm Just a Love machine

That's right BITCHES! I went to Girls Aloud yesterday!!! FUCK YEAH!!!!! Take my Indie rock card and rip it up and throw it beside my ticket stub because I danced to Love Machine and sang along to all the hits....four songs of pure goodness before the night dissolved into drunken debauchery that is the Liverpool student union's double vision....That, and I managed to get M to go as well -- he laughed when I bought my ticket but little did he know he'd be sheepishly buying one three days later. Quality entertainment those girls are...

This reminds me of when I saw Britney at the NFL kickoff in 2003. I rock so much sometimes!

On another note. Class today starts at 3 and I might be late. That's right. I'm a lazy student who can't get her ass to class...

I'd also like to say welcome to my readers JdS and El Brucio. I like that I don't even have to advertise and I pick up a reader. That's how awesome I am sometimes...

Must go and fix up look sharp.

Indie Rock Boys and the tsunami

So yesterday I finally broke down and decided to do something for the tsunami relief thing that has been getting a lot of attention in the world...not quite sure what this whole tsunami thing is but apparantly it's pretty wicked cool and everyone is doing it so I had to join in...

Truth be told I went to the benefit to look at indie-rock boys...Rock Star Charles was there, as were both DJ and Blonde DJ, but other than that, the indie-rock posse I've grown to love was not out...

Rockstar Charles continues to intrique KP and I -- yesterday he kept false approaching us: walking two steps towards us and then spinning crazy like around to his girl..interesting.

I also went home and got play by play commentary texted to me by M regarding the superbowl...I need to come up with nicknames for these people...oh well...

Finally, big shout out to Johannes de Silentio who set up this blog for me. For now he continues to have the power to change it on his own free will, so I'm sure some interesting blogs may randomly pop up.

By the way, JdS is fucking ace.

Today's wise words from Dizzee that reflect on the author:

I'm here, and I'm so happy to be here in the great presence of Johannes de Silentio

I'm typing this so I know that the blog works. I'd also like to send a shout out to my dear friend Johannes de Silentio; he's so hot and funny that I want him to bare my children. I love children; they're fantastic. I wish I were pregnant right now. Ohhhh, I also wish I had a Cadbury's creme egg; they're soooooooo good. I'm actually not here right now. I'm out at a Tsunami relief benefit. I don't really care about tsunamies, I only care about Dizzee Rascal and Johannes de Silentio. That is all.
