The Secret Ingredient is Crime

I have set this Blog up to keep in contact with my dear friend Johannes de Silentio; he is possibly the coolest person I've ever met and I never want to lose contact with him. Correction: He IS the coolest person I have ever met.

Emerging from a mother's womb

So yesterday was the anniversary of the sister's emergence into this world. No need to go into which anniversary but suffice it to say, it was her birthday and it was a lovely occasion.

I admit that it probably was not the best celebration ever: it started with an interview for her thesis project, but then she and I went for lunch. She chose the spot I picked up the tab. It was a good exchange though because the food was great and the restaurant pretty fucking cool. It has this very nightclub meets art deco meets lounge quality that I ate up alongside my delicious greek salad (and chunky chips:)

Went back to the flat for gift opening (meaning the gifts I purchased her as everyone else was either late in delivery, poor in the pocket, or providing them at a later date). Then it was off to the local coffee shop for wireless internet and uploading of CDs onto the computers. A meal of veg burgers, corn on the cob and mashed squash and potatoes was followed by a failed attempt at a lemon rissotto cheese cake, which was alright. A lack of mixer meant a drink apiece, and an episode of House.

It was uneventful and I am hoping that this weekend will make up for it. She's off interviewing today so she couldn't get too plastered anyways....oh well. That 22 year old will have to get her shits and giggles out on saturday night.

Now back to job apps and thesis crap.

Who the fuck am i trying to kid

I can't write a fucking thesis in five weeks. Especially when I:
a) don't know what the fuck I'm really trying to prove
b) don't care about it in the first place.

Grr.

Going to see Yeti tonight which should be fun. At least more fun than city marketing that is!

It Has Begun

Months of procrasination no longer.
Weeks of reading to fill the Time.
Ignoring vital signs in attempts to delay the inevitable.
One could not play the game forever.
Sigh, it is over.
The lead-up over, reality set in today.
I began composing my thesis.
In true me style I have laid the groundwork on the introduction.
I have put to paper some 1200 words thus far.
I will not struggle to fill the 14000 word limit.
I do anticipate struggles with the Research Part.
That I continue to put off, though thought has now gone into it.
It has Begun: The Thesis

In other Me News:
Interview on Friday was alright though not as awesome and fab as I wanted it to be. I don't think I'll soon be employed through them, although I anticipate an interview this coming week with a firm in Liverpool.

On the work front, the shirt launch seems to have gone well. Many complaints and I think I'm being sued by a customer (since it was obviousy MY fault he didn't get his order) and much room for the club to improve but its not really my concern. I do have fun spotting the fake shirts from the real ones though...yikes, thats scary!

And finally, I'm craving shopping at the moment and must abstain:

I want shoes and handbags
scarves and rings
necklaces of diamonds
and gold shiny things.

My ipod is lacking
in music of new and creative song
Purchasing from Amazon
won't be too long.

Apple has a new mouse out,
with buttons and laser beams,
RyanAir has seats for sale,
for places once reserved for my dreams.

The stores are packed
with items for fall,
hats, 'jumpers', jeans and shoes,
it is my name they call.

I keep thinking about how
my credit card has some room,
and it would just take a swipe,
for my desires to bloom.

Then I look to my statements
and realize my fate,
10 long years of debt repayment,
at high interest rates.

Milan

Milan was awesome.

Three sun filled days.
Three days of beautiful clothes, fabulous people, slow walks, delicious food and amazing buildings.

A late night arrival on Thursday was followed by a walk around the city for food: pizza.

Friday was seeing the main cathedral and having to cover my indecently exposed body in order to gain entrance, followed by pasta, a nap and then M's foot being run over by a cabbie.

Saturday was fashion houses filled with handbags and shoes and so many unfulfilled desires, San Sero footie stadia, pasta and more pasta. Oh, and the wine gods tricked me Saturday night and I stumbled into the hotel, inevitably singing songs about 'plugging my phone into the european adaptor thingee into the european plug in thingee'.

Sunday was hotel check out, wanderings and pouring rain.

Awesome.
